I am already thinking about the end of the financial year and how I should really get everything ready. I tend to start doing my prep tax about a month before the end of the financial year, when I make sure that I have got all of my relevant paperwork up together. Doing this early, means that if I am missing anything it will give me chance to order copies or to have a hunt around for things.
This usually works well and when I get down to actually getting the figures together, the task is a lot easier. I have also found a system of tax filing on line which is another thing that has made the whole process a lot easier. I know that when I do my on line tax that I cannot then lose the figures or they cannot get lost in the post. I think it is a really good way to do things and I will certainly be doing it this way all the time from now on. I guess that it makes me feel more organised somehow and I like being organised – it makes me feel like I am really in control of things which keeps me relaxed.
