I have been noticing that there have been a lot of gas logs advertised recently. Although I think that they are a good idea for people who cannot have a real fire, I would make having a working a chimney a priority if I was moving house because I just love wood burning stoves. I have a small fireplace and so have a small wood burning stove and it looks so cute but throws out a lot of heat. It means that we can heat the house very quickly and not worry about putting on the central heating. I would like to get some fireplace accessories for it, especially a toasting fork. We tend to heat up mince pies or roast chestnuts on the top of it but it would be great to be able to toast some bread on there as I have never eaten it like that and it is supposed to be really tasty. I would probably end up dropping it in the fire though, knowing me and how clumsy I am! I may have to find someone else to do it for me. Perhaps I should just make it with an ornamental poker and a fire log.
